Winter Solstice: The Shortest Day of the Year

images

Today is the Winter Solstice, or the first day of winter. In case you didn’t know, the Winter Solstice is the shortest day on Earth, and after it, the days gradually get longer and longer. But the Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year. After that, the days gradually get shorter. Here are some more facts about the Winter Solstice:

Today, the North Pole is tilted furthest from the sun, thus making fewer hours of sunlight in the day. The sun is right above the Tropic of Capricorn and is closer to the horizon. But, the Southern Hemisphere is closest to the sun, so the Winter Solstice happens to them in June.

A Winter Solstice can happen between December 20-23. Solstices seldom happen on Dec. 20th or 23rd . This year, it’s on the 21st. The last 23rd Solstice was in 1903 and is expected to happen in 2303.

When you see the Winter Solstice sunrise, it’s really spectacular. You see one line of glowing light about 93 million miles away from you. The big, bold, golden light just smiling at you, and is brought from the heavens, for you. Your own little special gift. Although I’ve never seen a Winter Solstice, I know what it’s like. I am dying to see it ,though. I would suggest setting an alarm for about 5:00 a.m. to see it, but it really is beautiful.

The storm is passing

Did you know that there is a hurricane down south? Well since I live in NJ, the whole state is getting remains of the storm. Or was it?

Surprisingly, Aruba is getting remains ,too. Good thing I went there before the storm. This photo above was just taken minutes ago by my phone. Just about 8 hours ago, the whole sky was covered by clouds, as usual. Then, I saw a parting of the clouds. Like a tear in fabric. But it got bigger. I realized then, it was the end of rain and cold and everything. It was a beginning to sunshine [again]

Yesterday, it was frigid. Like, not-normal frigid. I figured out it was the coldest day. For the next couple days, the average will be about 66 degrees F. Now, it’s about 60 degrees F . I hope for the best!

Rain!

It’s not summer anymore folks! It’s finally fall! I just went on the terrace to check out the rain, and it was a downpour.  As you know with my other water post, I will always catch rainwater when I can. Here’s the story:

First, it was just a raindrop waiting to be popular with others. Other starting joining and…BOOM! It went by quick, like a race. I was also like a tempest. It sounded like a tempest ,too. They hit you right in the face! Downpours, waterfalls, crashing waves, running facests, kaboom, now I’m just makeing up words.  The raindrops racing againest eachother, finding their way to the ground. But wait, a brave lady saved them from reaching the ground. She caught them, one by one, saving the day.

That’s pretty much how I imagined the rain. I collect water to save water. I don’t believe in rainwater finding it’s way to the ground. This will be great for me because the weather predicts that it’ll rain all week! Woohoo! 💧☔️

#Fallphoto is on!

Ok, you know my previous post, Fall is here! Well if you read it, than you would know I put up a trend called #fallphoto. All the information you need is down below this post

⬇️

Anyways, I got already a couple of bloggers on board. These bloggers are Through Open LensThe Thought CardRoamwildandfree, and I’m pretty sure The Inspriation Shots. These bloggers take good photos and a couple like fall. I didn’t post my #fallphoto yet because the tree are still green!! But some already had some leaves fall off. It’s like the trees are going through puberty. 😂 🌳

I just wish that the trees would turn that orange, red, and yellow look 🍂🍁. I would be able to take good photo with my phone (and also send them to Pinterest)

Also this may be happening to other bloggers, but my sharing buttons aren’t showing for some reason. As I said, this is happening to other bloggers ,too. I told that to WordPress, and they said they will fix the problem soon.

Fall is here!

Yes folks, fall is here! Fall is such a great time, especially in NJ.

Autauam

I like Fall. I just love that it’s in between summer and winter. Summer is too hot, and winter is too cold. I live in NJ, so I get equal shares of each season. Did you know that Pennsylvania, New York, and NJ are the only states that get equal shares of weather?

I also like wearing boots and sweaters in fall. The leaves are changing colors, to that warm, autumn color. Spring and fall are (what I like to call) the “middle” seasons. In between two extreme seasons.

Fall

I also love fall photos. What is your #fallphoto? My new trend #fallphoto is people taking photos of fall. For example trees, pumpkins, boots, etc. I will show my #fallphoto when the trees start changing colors in NJ. The leaves (apparently) are still green. About 1/8 of the leaves fell off an average tree. So I will present my #fallphoto in a post and will spread the word on other blogs to link back to this post. Pass this post on! Show me your skills!

Rules for #fallphoto

1- Must be a photo YOU took. I (and other people) want to see photos you took

2- The photo has to have something fall-related to it. For example, wagons, scarecrows, trees, fall flowers, etc.

3- When you insert your photo, share it in a post and link back to my site OR comment on this post linking to your #fallphoto post so I know you participated

4- Pass it on! Many people want to see your awesome fall photos

5- Have fun! 🙂
